1 killed, multiple people injured after 2 SUVs collide in Springfield

The man killed was in a vehicle with at least two other people who were taken to a local hospital. Some relatives arrived at the crash site and then went to the hospital.

The driver of the other SUV, the lone occupant, suffered minor injuries, police said.

The collision knocked over the traffic control box and the intersection remained shut down more than three hours following the crash, which remains under investigation.
