Syrese Day, 8, went missing at around 1 a.m. at a gas station in Harrison Township.

A 10-year-old boy that went missing early this morning has been found safe, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

In a release, the sheriff’s office said Syrece Day was found at 6:25 a.m. at the home of a relative. He had been missing for nearly five and a half hours.

Police asked for help locating Day after he went missing around 1 a.m. near the Marathon gas station at 4351 Riverside Drive.

Syrece Day reportedly left his mother’s vehicle while they were at a Marathon gas station on Riverside Drive after an argument. Diona Day left the gas station and drove around the block. By the time she returned, he was missing, a missing persons report from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office shows.

Diona Day returned to her home in the 400 block of Wilbur Avenue and waited 30 minutes before reporting her son as missing, the report said. She reportedly told officers he may have gone to his grandmother’s house, however his grandmother said he was not there.

Diona Day was charged with Child Endangerment, the missing person report shows.

The sheriff’s office thanked the public and all agencies that assisted in looking for the missing child, and said that the disappearance is still under investigation.
