2 local superpowers team up to craft a decadent dessert beer

Out of all the happy collaborations that exist, the one that has taken place between Braxton Brewing Company and Graeter’s has been the happiest of them all — especially for beer lovers.

This, dare we say it, fruitful collaboration has most recently produced the brewery’s latest claim to fame: The Graeter’s Black Cherry Chocolate Chip White Stout. The beer, brewed with cherries, cacao nibs and coffee beans, features flavors of sweet cherry and rich chocolate.

Graeter’s, a company created in Cincinnati, has been serving up ice cream and other sweet treats to the masses for over a century.

Braxton Brewing Company, based out of Covington, Ky., will be hosting special events this weekend to celebrate the release of the new stout.

On Friday, Feb. 28, the new concoction will be available on draft and in cans, beginning at 8 a.m. And, since the event wouldn’t be possible with the help of Graeter’s, the ice cream chain’s signature donuts will be served with a signature latte from Coffee Emporium.

Then, on Saturday, Feb. 29, the  brewery, along with Graeter’s, will be hosting an ice cream sampling from 5-7 p.m. with a special ice cream-themed photo booth and D.J.

Sunday’s event is one that the entire family can attend. On this day, there will be a sundae bar and a special visit from the penguins at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. That’s right — you’re not dreaming.
