The Miami Valley will get a wet start to the work week with multiple rounds of rain forecasted through Wednesday.

Today there will be a chance of showers throughout the day, with rain likely in the afternoon. Rainfall will start in Indiana and make its way east and into the I-75 corridor before weakening during the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Shower chances will dip slightly in the evening, though there will still be a chance of rain throughout the night.

Highs on Monday will be cooler at around 80 degrees, though lows will be warmer around 68 degrees.

More rain is expected early Tuesday, with as much as 2 inches of rainfall forecasted through Wednesday. The rain is expected to fall gradually, but it’s not clear yet if widespread showers will result in flooding, according to NWS. Over the next five days, the weather service has forecasted about 3 to 4 inches of rain to fall in the Dayton area.

Temperatures Tuesday will linger in the upper 70s, but rainfall in some areas could cause the temperature to drop a few degrees.

Tuesday night into Wednesday, a cold front will start moving into the region, with more rain and thunderstorms forecasted overnight.

Highs on Wednesday will drop down into the upper 60s.

Temperatures will remain cooler for the rest of the weeks, with highs in the high 60s to low 70s.
