Warm, sunny to end workweek ahead of rainy weekend

Today will be mostly sunny and warm with a high around 79 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Skies will be mostly clear overnight as temperatures fall to around 52 degrees.

On Friday there will be some more clouds, but skies will still be mostly sunny as temperatures reach up near 80 degrees.

Clouds will decrease again after dark but start to slowly build in the early-morning hours.

Lows will be around 56 degrees.

Clouds will continue to increase on Saturday, and there will be a chance of showers starting around noon.

Rain chances will continue to rise as the day goes on, with showers becoming likely just after dark.

There will also be a slight chance of a thunderstorm beginning Saturday afternoon, which will fall away around midnight.

Rain will continue throughout the night and is expected to last through the day on Sunday.

Highs on Saturday will be around 82 degrees, and lows will be around 66 degrees.
