Tropical Storm Kate develops near Bahamas

Tropical Storm Kate has developed near the Bahamas and becomes the 11th named storm of the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane season.

Tropical Storm Kate is positioned near the Bahama Islands and is currently a Tropical Storm. Maximum winds are currently at around 40 mph, reports StormCenter 7 Meteorologist Brett Collar.

Over the next few days, Kate is expected to stay at Tropical Storm strengths as it moves north, then eventually northeast out into the Atlantic Ocean. It is not expected to impact the United States.

The unofficial end to Hurricane season is Nov. 30.
