Rain this afternoon, evening; Mostly sunny but cooler Sunday

Rain is expected to return this afternoon, with sprinkled showers during the evening hours.

Today will start dry and sunny before clouds filter in for a mostly overcast day. The high for today will be near 65 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Sprinkles of showers are possible tonight, mainly before midnight. Skies will be mostly cloudy. Temperatures overnight will dip to a low around 43 degrees.

Widespread frost is expected Sunday night into Monday morning, with temperatures near freezing for some sheltered spots by daybreak Monday, the NWS said.

Sunday will be mostly sunny but cooler with a high near 57 degrees. Skies on Sunday night will stay mostly clear. The temperature overnight will fall to a low around 35 degrees. Patchy frost is expected Monday morning.

Monday will be sunny with a high in the lower to mid-60s. Monday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 48 degrees.

It will be sunny for Tuesday and mostly cloudy for Wednesday, with highs in the lower to mid-70s before a chance of rain returns Wednesday night.
