Patchy fog to start, then mostly sunny, hazy today

Today will start out with patchy fog that will clear soon after dawn, though it will stay hazy due to widespread smoke in the atmosphere, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Otherwise, it will be mostly sunny today with a high near 81 degrees, although the NWS predicted there will be some clouds north of Interstate 70, which will keep highs in the mid-70s for some locations.

Tonight will be cooler and mostly clear, with lows around 58 degrees.

Thursday will also be mostly sunny, with a high near 83 degrees and a low around 64 degrees.

Friday, there will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and north of I-70, the NWS said.

Rain and storm chances will dip around dark, with storm chances falling away entirely after midnight. There will still be a slight chance of rain throughout the night.

Otherwise, Friday will be mostly sunny, with a high around 86 degrees and a low around 68 degrees.
