Chance for rain returns mid-week; Mostly cloudy today

The chance for rain is back on the forecast for the first half of the week, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Today will be mostly cloudy and dry with a high of 75 degrees, followed by a partly cloudy sky tonight with a low of 59 degrees.

Tuesday brings a slight chance of patchy rain showers in the afternoon and evening, but it will be mostly dry and cloudy. Highs will be in the lower 80s, while lows will be near 61 degrees. Overnight, expect a mostly cloudy sky and a chance of precipitation.

Wednesday has a 50% chance of rain, mainly after 2 p.m., with thunderstorms also possible. Highs will be in the mid-70s, while lows will fall around 60 degrees overnight.

Rain is also possible Wednesday night.

Sunshine returns Thursday with partly sunny skies. The high of the day will be 76 degrees and the low will be near 58 degrees.

Thursday night will be partly cloudy but cool with a chance of precipitation before 8 p.m.
