Showers, storms this evening, overnight; Flood Watch issued for some

Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are likely through at least early Saturday morning, followed by warmer and drier conditions for the first half of next week, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

A Flood Watch has been issued until 1 a.m. Saturday for Butler, Greene and Warren counties. Excessive runoff may result in the flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone areas, according to NWS.

Today will be rainy, with showers and isolated storms throughout the day. except for a lull expected late in the morning before picking back up again in the afternoon. Storm chances will increase during the afternoon or later in the day, according to NWS.

There is a chance for parts of the region to experience strong storms this afternoon and evening, with an isolated severe storm also possible. Damaging wind is the main threat but locally heavy rainfall could result in flooding. About an inch to 1.15 inches of rainfall is forecasted for the region today.

The possibility of thunder is expected to decrease into the evening.

Highs today will be around 70 degrees. The overnight low will be around 56 degrees.

Showers will continue overnight and linger through part of Saturday morning, with rain chances will gradually fall as the day goes on and fall away entirely by dark. Clouds will remain after rain passes.

It will be windy, especially in the morning with gusts as high as 26 mph.

Saturday night, clouds will decrease some, for partly sunny skies at dawn on Sunday.

Temperatures will be cooler on Saturday, with highs in the 50s for most.

After a rainy end to the week, Sunday will be partly cloudy and mild, with a high around 68 degrees.

Clouds will decrease more overnight for mostly clear skies by the time the sun rises on Monday. Overnight lows will be around 51 degrees.
