Skies will be mostly cloudy tonight with a chance of showers and thunderstorms before sundown.

Storms headed east tonight are shifting north and are not expected to affect the region. The overnight low will be around 72 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

The weekend is expected to stay sunny, hot and dry.

It will be mostly sunny and warmer for Saturday, which will have a high temperature near 89 degrees.

Saturday night will be mostly clear with an overnight low around 72 degrees.

Skies will be mostly sunny again Sunday, with a high near 92 degrees. Sunday night will be mostly clear with an overnight low around 73 degrees.

It will be mostly sunny and hot with a high near 92 for Monday. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. The chance of rain continues until around 2 a.m.
