There was patchy frost this morning, but otherwise it will be sunny and breezy throughout today, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Frost and frozen conditions are likely possible tonight where they are less clouds northeast of Dayton, Wilmington and Portsmouth, according to a Twitter post from the NWS.

The frosty or freezing conditions will kill crops and sensitive vegetation and could damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Today will be sunny as the region warms up, but temperatures will remain cooler than normal. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 50s.

Skies will be mostly cloudy overnight as temperatures drop down to a low around 36 degrees. Frost is possible again overnight.

Thursday will be calmer, with partly cloudy skies and a high around 59 degrees.

On Thursday night, it will be mostly cloudy as temperatures dip down to around 41 degrees.

During the day on Friday it will be much the same, with partly cloudy skies and highs in the low to mid-60s.

Overnight on Friday, though, after midnight there will be a slight chance of rain which will gradually rise during the day on Saturday.

Lows Friday night will be around 45 degrees.

A warm front will move into the region Saturday, bringing an increased chance of showers. Rain is expected Saturday afternoon with the chance of thunder.

Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60s.

Showers continue Saturday night and throughout Sunday, with the possibility of thunder returning.

The region will get back to normal temperatures Sunday, with highs reaching the low 70s.
