Chilly today ahead of snow and winterlike temps Thursday

It will be much chillier with gusty winds for today after a cold front moves through the area, which will make Thursday and Friday feel like winter again.

Skies today will be mostly sunny this afternoon with a high near 51 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

After 11 p.m., there is a chance for isolated snow showers as the low overnight drops below freezing to around 25 degrees. The NWS has issued freeze watches and warnings to the south of the Miami Valley.

Scattered snow showers are expected mainly before 3 p.m. Thursday, which will be partly sunny and even colder with a high near 35 degrees. Thursday night will drop to around 21 degrees.

Patchy frost is expected Friday morning. Otherwise, it will be warmer and sunny with a high near 47 degrees. Skies stay mostly clear overnight Friday, which again will see lows below freezing. The low will drop to 30 degrees, and widespread frost is expected.

After widespread frost before 9 a.m., it will be sunny to start the weekend with highs on Saturday near 61 degrees. Overnight, it will remain clear with a low around 43 degrees.

Easter Sunday, it will be mostly sunny and even warmer with a high near 67 degrees. Overnight, skies will be partly cloudy with a low around 45 degrees.

Temperatures return into the 70s on Monday.
