Air pollution will be high today as smoke from wildfires in the western U.S. and Canada blows through the area.
The air quality is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups, including children, seniors and those with respiratory diseases. In addition, the general public is advised to take more breaks when working outside and avoid more strenuous activity.
Residents are also asked to take steps to reduce ground-level ozone, including limiting or avoiding driving or using gas-powered appliances, and refueling after 8 p.m.
Today will be warm and hazy, but with otherwise clear skies, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Highs will be near 82 degrees and lows will be around 61 degrees.
