Dayton restaurant saying ‘thank you’ with free coffee and tea, 20 percent off meals discount

Ethiopian coffee is typically $5 a person or $8 for two people. A cup of tea is $1.

When customers asks Sofi Kinde for the dessert menu, she tells them about the coffee.

"Coffee is the way we end the meal and have a conversation with friends and family," said Kinde, the owner of Nanya Café, the Ethiopian restaurant at 6129 N. Dixie Drive in Harrison Twp.

“You don’t eat and get up and go. You have to sit down and touch base with your friends, family and loved ones.”

As a thank you to customers, Kinde is offering tea and her Ethiopian coffee served free of charge as part of a Thanksgiving week special.

The special will run during regular hour Monday to Sunday, Nov. 19 to Nov. 25.

“I want to say thank you to the whole community,” Kinde said, noting that she hopes groups of family members and friends take her up on their offer.

Where: Nanya Café, the Ethiopian restaurant at 6129 N. Dixie Drive in Harrison Twp.

When: Monday to Sunday, Nov. 19 to Nov. 25.

The restaurant’s normal hours are  11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday;  1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. It will be open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
