5-day forecast with Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs

Weather forecast: Muggy and warm

UPDATE @ 4:52 p.m.: It will be partly, sunny, warm and humid for the rest of the day, but a few isolated showers or storms can't be ruled out before sunset, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs said.

"We"ve already seen some pop-ups around the area. I'm monitoring a cluster of showers and storms in northeastern Illinois pushing into western Indiana," she said. "Most of our models are indicating that these storms should pass to our west and continue to travel south. However, it's a little too close to call for a completely dry forecast later."

Broken clouds tonight will allow for fog into the morning, with the possibility of dense areas.

Temperatures fall through the 70s this evening and hold in the upper 60s for a low.

Sunday: There will be areas of patchy fog in the morning. It will be warm and muggy to start, then reach the upper 80s by afternoon. Heat index values will be in the lower 90s. It will be partly cloudy and dry through the day.

Monday and Tuesday: There will be sun and some clouds at times, with a few isolated showers or storms possible in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 80s; Heat index values are in the low to mid-90s.

Wednesday: It will be partly sunny, still warm and humid with highs in the upper 80s. Scattered showers and storms are expected into the afternoon, arriving from the north.

Thursday: It will be warm and humid with a few more showers or storms. Highs will be in the low to mid-80s.

FIRST TAKE

Patches of fog spread throughout the Miami Valley to kick off what is expected to be a muggy Saturday, according to WHIO meteorologist Carrieann Marit.

Most of the area should stay dry as the day progresses, but a chance of showers or thunderstorms still linger in the western counties, says Marit.

Highs will reach the upper 80s.

Marit says to expect a muggy and mild Saturday night with lows in the upper 60s.

A hot and sticky Sunday is expected with partly cloudy skies and highs close to 90, says Marit.

Both Monday and Tuesday should be partly cloudy with a chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm and highs in the upper 80s.

Wednesday brings clouds along with scattered showers and thunderstorms, says Marit. Highs dropping into the mid 80s.
