SUV crashes into utility pole, snaps it in half in Springfield

A small SUV crashed into a utility pole, snapping off the bottom section and bringing wires down on Friday afternoon on the west side of Springfield.

The crash happened around 2:45 p.m. on West Main Street (state Route 40) at Park Drive.

The right lane of West Main Street is blocked and Ohio Edison responded to the scene.

The driver of the small Buick SUV was seen walking around and talking before he was taken by ambulance to Springfield Regional Medical Center.
