Slingshot possibly used on U.S. 35, car windows broken
Capt. Brian Wirth, Springfield fire, said a tanker truck filling up tanks for Speedway somehow spilled 300 gallons of gasoline.
Some of the fluid went into a storm drain. Wirth said the EPA and a clean up contractor is on the way.
The gas station is closed for now, as well as parts of Derr Road nearby.
Wirth said the spill is isolated and residents don’t have a reason to worry.
