Report: Over $2,800 worth of items stolen during Springfield home burglary

Springfield police are investigating after a man reported over $2,800 worth of items were stolen during a burglary.

Officers were dispatched around 5 p.m. on Tuesday to the 400 block of Willard Avenue on a report of a burglary, according to a Springfield police report.

The victim told police that when he arrived home, he found several things were missing.

“(The victim) advised it appears the unknown suspect pushed in the air conditioner that was placed in his bedroom window on the south facing window on the first floor and made entry,” the report stated. “He also found his back door was unlocked, which was locked when he left. This is where it appears the suspect(s) exited the residence.”

According to the report, the items stolen include a three flat screen TVs, an Xbox One and an Asus gaming laptop, totaling over $2,800.

No suspect or witness information was available.

Springfield police continue their investigation into this burglary.
