Rapid Fired Pizza to open restaurant in Springfield

The founders of fast-growing Rapid Fired Pizza will open their sixth area location at 1200 Bechtle Avenue in Springfield.

The restaurant, scheduled to open in June, will occupy 2,500 square feet in the Plaza 41 retail center, Kelly Gray, co-founder of Rapid Fired Pizza, said this afternoon, March 1. It will seat about 58.

Gray said the Bechtle Avenue location was attractive because of “good residential population and strong daytime employment, and it is located in the major retail corridor in the market. We expect this to be a great store and are happy to bring the concept to Springfield.”

The Springfield restaurant will be the Kettering-based chain’s first franchise restaurant. The franchisee is Kevin Foley, a battalion chief with the Huber Heights Fire Department who also operates a Hot Head Burritos restaurant in Fairborn.

Rapid Fired restaurants have a “fast-casual” service line similar to Chipotle or Hot Head Burritos in which customers pick out the toppings for their 11-inch personal pizza that is then cooked in just under three minutes.

The first Rapid Fired Pizza opened last year in Washington Twp. east of the Dayton Mall, and the second opened Monday near Wright State University. A third Rapid Fired Pizza will follow in Huber Heights, probably in March. The pizza chain’s founders have signed a lease to open what will be their fourth Dayton-area location in Sugarcreek Twp., probably in April. A fifth location will follow in Troy.
