It may be easier to be ethical in the morning

Your chances are better if you ask them in the morning. … Turns out, morality is like dieting: it's easier to do the right thing at the beginning of a day versus later at night. … (People are) "more likely to engage in unethical behaviors, such as lying and cheating, in the afternoon, and a higher level of moral awareness and self-control was found in the morning. The researchers called their results the 'morning morality effect.'"
