A New Carlisle man has pleaded not guilty to charges related to recording and forwarding explicit audio and video of a woman , according to court records.

Daniel Best, 29, is charged with non-consensual dissemination of private sexual images, court records show.

A woman reported to the Clark county Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 7 that Best sent explicit audio and video of her to her friend without her consent, according to an affidavit filed in the case.

At the beginning of August, the woman said she and Best had a consensual sexual encounter, of which there were two video recordings and one audio recording created without her knowledge that he had sent to her and the friend through Facebook Messenger, the affidavit said.

“(The woman) stated she did not know it was being recorded and never gave any type of consent to record this act,” the affidavit said

Detectives interviewed Best on Aug. 13 where he said the incident was recorded on the security camera system in the house.

“He stated he made a mistake by sending it to (the friend)... He said he should have never sent them,” according to the affidavit.

Best also told detectives he deleted all of the videos and audio and no longer has them, the affidavit said.

According to the affidavit, he was charged with dissemination of image of another person due to him sending the video and audio and the woman filing a report.
