Lowes to hire for jobs at local stores; need 65K nationally

Home improvement company Lowe’s needs to hire 65,000 workers to fill its seasonal help needs.

The company plans to hire for more than 50,000 seasonal positions, 10,000 permanent jobs to manage inventory, 6,000 assistant store managers and supervisors and more than 2,000 technology roles, according to a company release.

“We are investing in key leadership positions across our stores to enhance customer service while also creating jobs that will improve the availability of our most popular products, transform our technology infrastructure and provide more access for customers to the home improvement expertise of our store Associates,” said Marvin Ellison, Lowe’s president and CEO.

Customer service and technology have become major points of investment for retailers looking to draw shoppers into stores as consumer shopping habits continue to shift more sales online.

The jobs will be posted on Lowes.com/careers as early as mid-January. Lowe’s employs more than 310,000 people across 2,240 home improvement and hardware stores nationwide. There are stores in Centerville, Fairborn, Trotwood, Hamilton, Huber Heights, Mason, Middletown, Springfield, Warren, Wilimington and Xenia, among several in both Cincinnati and Columbus.
