Springfield woman dies following motorcycle crash in Madison County

A Springfield woman died Sunday as a result of a motorcycle crash in Madison County.

Carolyn J. Howard, 57, was traveling north on state Route 38 around 1:14 p.m. when she drove off the right side of the road and struck a guard rail, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. She was then ejected from the motorcycle.

Howard was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
