Santa-con: one of five events in Clark, Champaign counties

Santa-con and Spamilton are among things to do in Clark and Champaign counties this weekend.

Clark County:

Santa-con

Springfield’s Santa-con, a United Way event, is 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Mother Stewart’s Brewing Co., 102 W. Columbia Street in Springfield.

Holiday outfits and costumes are encouraged.

This event will feature live music 4 to 9 p.m. and a costume contest starting at 6 p.m. $1 from every beer sold will benefit United Way.

Spamilton

Spamilton: An American Parody is coming to the Clark State Performing Arts Center, 300 S. Fountain Avenue in Springfield, 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The parody is described as a singing, dancing, and comedy revolution.

Champaign County:

Kitty Cafe Day

Paws Urbana will host a Christmas Kitty Cafe Day, noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at 1535 U.S. Highway 36, in Urbana.

This event will feature selfies with Santa, a raffle, hot chocolate and baked goods. The kittens will be out playing during this event.

North Lewisburg Parade

The North Lewisburg Hometown Christmas Parade is 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Northeast Champaign County Fire District, 60 E. Maple Street in North Lewisburg.

Santa will have his own float in the parade.

After the parade, the fire department will have hot dogs, chili, a cakewalk, and other activities.

Auction

The Champaign County Fairgrounds, 384 Park Avenue in Urbana, will host a large gun collection and antiques auction at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

There will be 87 guns for auction and various antiques like a 1950’s aluminum tricycle and a 1920’s Mortise tool.
