The land to build the school was donated by the Kissell Real Estate Company. Harry S. Kissell had already shown himself to be a pioneer with the planning and creation of the Ridgewood suburban community that encompassed the school.
In 1962, Ridgewood School moved to its current location on St. Paris Pike.
