Whoever committed the crimes in the late night hours of Dec. 1 used spray paint to deface the structures, leaving behind multiple logos and foul language, Monnin said.
He said the same three suspects are believed to have vandalized at least four vehicles and possibly a building on East Third Street with spray paint, foul language and the logos.
Greenville City Park has been bedeviled by vandals for some time, according to the Daily Advocate. Two of the more recent incidents occurred in 2017.
In May 2017, a local nonprofit asked park patrons to help police identify whoever was defacing park property. The nonprofit, Person Centered Services, had recently restored the Roundhouse building.
In October that year, a vandal or vandals defaced the bandshell at the park. A Greenville police sergeant said then that the graffiti on the bandshell and other locations in the city park matched the graffiti found in May on the Roundhouse building.
