Fire causes significant damage to Champaign County mobile home

No injuries have been reported after a fire broke out in a Champaign County mobile home late Wednesday morning.

A state trooper driving on U.S. 68 north of state Route 72, reported finding the fire in the Sunset Terrace mobile home park around 10:40 a.m., emergency scanner traffic indicated.

The homeowner was not home at the time the fire broke out, firefighters said.

The mobile home sustained significant damage, however the cause of the blaze was unknown and under investigation, firefighters said.

Additional details were not available.

FIRST REPORT

Firefighters reported heavy smoke and flames were coming from a mobile home on U.S. 68 south of Urbana Wednesday morning, according to initial reports.

A state trooper driving on U.S. 68 north of state Route 72, reported finding the fire in the Sunset Terrace mobile home park around 10:40 a.m., emergency scanner traffic indicates.

There were no immediate reports of any injuries.
