Clark, Champaign counties offer community Thanksgiving dinners

Several businesses, churches, and organizations in Clark and Champaign counties are hosting Thanksgiving dinners to help people in need. All dinners are open to the public.

Saturday: 

Big Willies Smokehouse, 23 Monument Square in Urbana, will hold a community Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Donations will be accepted, however, they are not required to attend.

St. Joseph Catholic Church will hold a community Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, at the St. Joseph Parish Center, 819 Kenton Street in Springfield.

The dinner is open to anyone in need of food.

JLC Springfield Community Outreach Gathering will hold a community Thanksgiving dinner from noon until 4 p.m. Saturday at The L event center, 1530 S. Yellow Springs Street in Springfield.

Dinner is free and open to the public. There will food, games and raffle giveaways as well as a visit from Santa.

The Restored Life Ministries Church, 1117 Innisfallen Avenue in Springfield, will hold a community Thanksgiving dinner from noon until 6 p.m. Saturday.

The dinner is free and open to the public.

Wednesday: 

The Springfield Soup Kitchen will have a 5 p.m. dinner on Wednesday hosted by The Fairborn chapter of the Veterans Motorcycle Club.

The Springfield Soup Kitchen is located at 830 W. Main Street in Springfield.

Thursday: 

The Springfield Soup Kitchen will have an Italian Thanksgiving for the seventh year in a row.

Olive Garden of Springfield will provide the meal from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day at 830 W. Main Street in Springfield.

All those in need of a hot meal are welcome. Individuals will give thanks with a toast of juice from the fruit of the vine while being served by Olive Garden employees and family.

The Caring Kitchen, 300 Miami Street in Urbana, will host a community Thanksgiving Day dinner.

A dine-in dinner will be available from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Food deliveries will be made 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
