Woman held after tire iron attack on vehicle

• Carolyn S. Violet, 46, of 2365 West First St., was arrested on a charge of criminal damaging Friday, Dec. 11, according to a report by the Springfield Police Division. She was accused of damaging a vehicle in the 2300 block of West First Street with a tire iron about 3:30 p.m. She was ordered into court.

• Derek L. Lavarnia, 23, of 1945 Primm Drive, was arrested Friday, Dec. 11, on charges of assault, domestic violence and disrupting public service. According to a report by the Springfield Police Division, he grabbed and injured a woman he knew in his home and hung up the phone when she tried to dial 911.

• Kion M. Hill, 29, of 1907 Lexington Ave., was arrested Friday, Dec. 11, on a charge of burglary. Police said he broke into a home in the 1900 block of Lexington Avenue. He was placed in the Clark County Jail.

• At 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, a woman in the 900 block of Southfield Avenue reported someone broke into her home and stole a Playstation 3 video game system and games valued at $550.

• At 6:12 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, a man in the 1900 block of Fred Jordan Drive reported someone broke into his home and stole DVDs, a radio, a laptop and a digital camera valued at $800. A back door and a bathroom window were found unlocked, according to a report by the Springfield Police Division.

• At 1:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, a woman in the 700 block of Rice Street reported someone broke into her home and stole a television, a video game system, a computer and an iPod with combined falue of $3,000. Someone entered the home through a window on the south side of the residence. A shoe print and fingerprints were found at the scene.

• At 10:05 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, a man in the 1700 block of East Street reported someone kicked in the front door of his home. A handgun, a television, a video game system, a black square urn and a small safe were missing, according to a report by the Springfield Police Division. The items were valued at $2,430.
