Man reportedly shot in hand

A man was treated for a gunshot wound to the hand Monday morning after an unknown man shot him during a possible attempted robbery, according to Springfield police reports.

The 20-year-old victim was walking home in the area of Race Street and Rubsam Street shortly after 1:30 a.m. Monday when he was approached by a male in a black hooded sweatshirt, according to the report.

The suspect did not say anything, but put a gun in the victim’s face, according to the report; and when the victim put his left hand up to the gun the suspect shot him. The suspect then fled on foot, the report says.

The victim was treated at Springfield Regional Medical Center.

Accused arsonist is pepper-sprayed

A man was pepper-sprayed by police who arrested him early Monday morning on charges including threatening to burn a house down, according to Springfield police reports.

Bryan Moore, 27, of 1229 Highland Ave., is facing multiple charges including harassment, possession of criminal tools, domestic violence and driving under suspension.

Police say Moore had had threatened in a phone call to burn down a home on West High Street, and was taken into custody outside the home with a large lighter, flashlight and rock in his car.

While at the police station, Moore argued with police who pepper-sprayed him to subdue him, according to the report.

Moore was placed in the Clark County Jail.

Men reportedly run after kicking in door

A resident on West Clark Street told police two unknown men forced their way into his home around midnight Saturday, but fled when the residents called police, according to police reports.

The victim told police he answered a knock on the door and found two men, so he slammed the door shut, according to the report. But the men kicked in the door. When they entered and saw one of the residents on the phone with police, the two ran back out the door, according to the report.

Man arrested on criminal damaging

Christopher Adams, 23, of 522 Broadway St, was arrested on charges of criminal damaging Sunday afternoon, according to Springfield police reports.

He allegedly flattened a tire on a pickup truck, then returned to his vehicle and drove away.

He was taken to Clark County Jail and released and given an order to appear in court.

Man in jail on domestic violence

David Reeves, 34, of 131 Fremont Ave., was arrested on domestic violence charges on Sunday afternoon, according to Springfield police reports.

He allegedly pushed a woman down a flight of stairs.

He was taken to Clark County Jail.

Man arrested on assault charges

Larry Carter, 55, of 621 S. Fountain Ave., was arrested Sunday evening on assault charges, according to Springfield police reports.

He allegedly attacked a woman during an argument about laundry soap. The victim and a witness told police that Carter threatened to go back to his apartment and get his gun.

He was taken to Clark County Jail and released and given an order to appear in court.
