A jury trial date for the case involving Chambers has been set for Aug. 21.
Chambers was reported missing from Florida in 2015 and her remains were found hidden in Xenia by a mushroom hunter in 2016.
Court records say police learned Chambers traveled with Hare to Springfield from Jacksonville, Fla., on July 16, 2015.

“Officers spoke with several witnesses who told essentially the same story,” a court affidavit says. “Mr. Hare and his girlfriend at the time, defendant Hannah Whitman, had planned to kill Ms. Chambers for some reason, one reason that we were told was that Ms. Chambers owed Mr. Hare an unknown amount of money.”
The affidavit says investigators believe the slaying occurred at a home on Pleasant Street in Springfield and that both suspects allegedly transported Chambers’ remains to the wooded area in Greene County.
Whitman also faces a charge of tampering with with evidence and abuse of corpse. No upcoming court dates are scheduled in her case according to court records.

Hare has a 2016 murder conviction. He was convicted of chocking 35-year-old Deshun Lumford in December 2015 until he died.
Hare is serving 26 years to life in that case.
