Burglars break into 20 units at storage facility

SPRINGFIELD — Police are investigating a break-in at a Belmont Avenue storage facility late Tuesday, Jan. 12, according to a police report.

At least 20 units were broken into at Storage Depot, 1215 N. Belmont Ave., between 7 p.m. and midnight Tuesday, according to the report.

The burglars accessed the facility by cutting a chain link fence on the west side of the property, according to the report.

Padlocks on the units were cut off and police found a pry bar in one of the units that was broken into, according to the report.

No injuries were reported.
