Bond was set at $1 million for an Urbana man facing murder charges in the death of his mother.
Robert James “Jamie” Stevenson, 29, appeared in Champaign County Common Pleas Court via video for an arraignment Tuesday morning.
He is scheduled to be back in court Wednesday.
Stevenson was indicted on aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence, gross abuse of a corpse and aggravated menacing in connection to the death of 66-year-old Pamela Combs.
He was arrested Friday at the home in the 600 block of Lionel Drive where he lived with his mother.
Combs was found dead earlier that day after police responded to a welfare check.
Police have not released details about how Combs died, but Champaign County Coroner Dr. Joshua Richards said preliminary autopsy results show that she died of both blunt and sharp force trauma.
