Cool with a chance of showers today to kick off rainy weekend

Today we will start out with a chance of showers, which will steadily fall but not disappear throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Temperatures will be cool today, with a high near 48 degrees under cloudy skies.

After dark, rain chances will quickly rise, making showers especially likely after midnight. Chances will continue to rise through Sunday.

Overnight lows will be around 40 degrees.

Sunday will see rain all day, though chances will start to fall again in the afternoon and will continue to dwindle through the night, until it falls to near zero early Monday morning.

Highs during the day on Sunday will be around 52 degrees, falling to around 34 degrees overnight.

After the wet weekend, Monday will be dry, cool and partly sunny, with a high near 46 degrees.

Monday night will be much the same with partly cloudy skies, although overnight lows will fall to around 31 degrees.
