Clark State, TechAdvisors partner to bring hands-on learning to IT students

Clark State Community College has partnered with TechAdvisors, a Springfield information technology firm, to bring hands-on learning to students, according to a release from the school.

The partnership will offer students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience for those seeking a career in IT.

“Clark State’s Career Services is thrilled with the new partnership with TechAdvisors,” said Melody Gast, Career Services coordinator at Clark State. “Co-ops and internships provide our students with a unique opportunity to advance their in-demand skills through mentored experiences. TechAdvisors is a great example of how local employers can invest in a student’s education while creating a strong recruiting pipeline.”

Through the partnership, students will have “first-in-line” access to call center jobs, on-site trouble shooting positions and engineering roles, the release stated. TechAdvisors have often hired past interns once their degrees are completed.

“Working with interns has been a great way to keep our company fully staffed,” said TechAdvisors President Randall East. “We have many former interns who are now full-time employees in roles from sales, to call-center, to on-site technicians.”

Interested students should contact Clark State’s Career Services to assist them with their resume before sending it on to TechAdvisors who will select the students for the program.
