The suspect fled with an unknown amount of money. Nobody was injured, Urbana police said in a release.
The robber was described as a man between 30 and 40 years old who stands around 5 feet, 10 inches and weighs around 175 pounds.
The suspect was wearing light knee-length shorts, a dark shirt and a black hat with a green logo on it.
He also has a tattoo on the back of his left leg.
The bank was closed following the robbery, and police surrounded the area with yellow crime tape.
