House fire sends two out in the cold

The occupants of a house on fire were able to escape without injury Saturday morning.

Xenia fire crews were dispatched to 2038 Bellbrook Ave around 8:00 a.m. on the report of smoke detectors going off. Upon arrival, crews were able to attack a kitchen fire suspected to have started with the stove.

Crews quickly controlled the fire and held it to just the kitchen. Preliminary reports state smoke damage spread to other parts of the home.

Two people were living in the house and they escaped unharmed.

The incident is currently under investigation.
