City of Springfield officials said on Sunday that water service at Sunset Hills was temporarily shut off Friday at the request of representatives of the property to address a water leak.
There was no activity at the apartment complex early Monday morning, and residents declined to comment on the ongoing problem.
Heavy equipment including a backhoe arrived around 10:15 a.m. to begin work at the site, and an area was cordoned off for crews to dig into the frozen ground to make repairs.
