One 911 caller, who appeared to know the victim, screamed and cried for help. She told a dispatcher that she didn’t know where the shooter was and pleaded for emergency services to hurry.
“I can’t talk, ma’am, I can’t talk,” she said. “I’m trying to apply pressure.”
The woman said she was administering CPR, before it appeared a man took over.
Two neighbors on Elder Street also called 911 and told dispatchers they did not see the shooting but heard people screaming for help. One woman said people were beating on doors and screaming and that while she did not see the shooting, she has cameras outside her house.
This shooting death is separate from another incident that happened 12 hours later Wednesday, about six blocks west on Euclid Avenue. One man died and a second was injured in that case.
The Buckeye Street incident is under investigation. This story will be updated with new details as they come.
