Cheers! Here’s how and when local craft breweries and beer bars will reopen

After the announcement by Gov. Mike DeWine that restaurants, bars and breweries were allowed to open their patios and indoor areas to the public, many beer bars and craft breweries throughout the Miami Valley came up with reopening plans  that ensure the safety of their patrons and employees while still allowing customers to enjoy freshly brewed craft beer.

Some local breweries and beer bars, including Warped Wing Brewing and Fifth Street Brewpub, both in Dayton, have opted not to open fully yet (FSB’s patio is open for customers to consume their carryout orders there, but there is no table service, while Warped Wing remains focused on carryout and delivery). Some breweries have not yet announced their full plans to reopen on their social-media pages. Others have laid out how and when they plan to reopen, and a handful have already welcomed guests back on to their patios, and in their taprooms, with safety procedures put in place.

Here are the plans and details of some of the establishments working to serve great craft beer in a safe way.

🍺The Barrel House

The Barrel House in Dayton will now be open from Tuesday through Saturday, from noon to 6 p.m. Only one person or couple (no groups) is permitted to enter the building at a time. All customers will be required to wear masks, or they will be denied service. Guests will enter through the front entrance and exit through the back entrance.

During these hours of operation, curbside pickup will still be available to all customers. Curbside pickup will be done outside of The Barrel House’s back door, and they will only be accepting card payments — no cash. To place an order, call 937-222-4795.

If you opt for service inside, refrain from touching anything to lessen the amount of objects that need to be sanitized between each customer interaction.

The Barrel House will be doing growler and howler fills of the beers available on tap, though no samples will be handed out. Since it’s inevitable that a line of customers will form outside of the restaurant, there are markers on the pavement that make it possible to keep six feet away from others at all times.

For more information, pay a visit to The Barrel House's Facebook page.

The Barrel House is located at 417 E. Third St. in Dayton.
