Fiona, the Cincinnati Zoo’s beloved hippo and Graeter’s ice cream have teamed up for a special event, the first Fiona Fun-K and Ice Cream Sunday.

The non-competitive walk will be held Sunday, July 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and winds around the zoo. Samples of Graeter’s ice cream – Black Raspberry Chip, Chunky Chunky Hippo and a special 150th flavor among others, will be handed out along the route.

“This walk is all about having fun,” Chad Yelton, vice-president of marketing and communications said in a release. “Whether you make it a 1K, 3K or 5K, the point is to have fun, get some exercise, see animals, and eat ice cream.”

Participants will receive a shirt featuring art designed by New York Times Best-Selling Illustrator Richard Cowdrey.

Tickets are $25 for Zoo Members and $30 for non-members and include after-hours zoo admission, parking, Fiona Fun-K shirt, Graeter’s ice cream, and a Graeter’s commemorative ice cream spoon for sampling.

Registered time slots are at 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

There is also a virtual Fun-K option. Virtual walkers can choose their own course, start time, and walk companions. Throw on your Fiona Fun-K shirt and tag the zoo at #FionaFunK.

Event capacity for the in-person walk is limited. Information about tickets, registration and a shirt pickup can be found on the zoo's website.
