The Champaign County Arts Council’s 2014-15 Piano Series resumes Sunday with accomplished pianist Shuai Wang.

The concert was rescheduled from an earlier date.

“We’re excited to resume our third year of the piano series with Shuai,” said Champaign County Arts Council Executive Director Heather Brackney. “We try to feature a variety of pianists in the series.”

Wang, who is on the Cleveland Institute of Music’s faculty, is a soloist and chamber musician born in China and studied and performed in the U.S. since age 14.

She’s performed at numerous prestigious facilities including the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

Besides performing and teaching, Wang is also the founder and director of the Ars Futura Ensemble in Cleveland, made up of classically trained musicians who commission and perform new music. They work on various music education projects for young people, as well.

Tickets cost $15 each and are available at the Arts Council, The Peoples Savings Bank and The Medicine Shoppe.

The Piano Series’ season finale will feature Caroline Hong on May 17.
