Sam Reich will return the Champaign Arts Council’s Sunday Series to its roots this weekend.

The Yellow Springs pianist will be the second performer of the revamped series when he performs in concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 10 at the Champaign Arts Council, 119 Miami St.

Prior to this year, the series was known as the Champaign County Arts Council Piano Series due to its showcasing of pianists, but revamped this year to include other musicians in a small, intimate-based setting.

Reich, who has family in Urbana, performed during that initial piano series in 2013 according to Heather Brackney, Arts Council, executive director.

He has performed throughout the U.S. as well as South America and Europe as a soloist and chamber musician. Reich graduated from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y.

Tickets cost $15 and are available online or at the Arts Council office. Another pianist and returnee to the series, Taylor Wang, will close out the 2016 Sunday Series at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 15.
