He likely won’t be playing “Home for the Holidays” in his set. But Springfield native Griffin House will likely be living that sentiment this Christmas season.

The singer-songwriter will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, at the Buckeye Sports Lodge, 126 W. High St.

Tickets will go on sale Monday, Nov. 23, at Buckeye Sports Lodge. Advance tickets cost $10 apiece and $15 at the door if the show is not sold out.

There will be 150 tickets available.

“He’s a hometown guy and we thought it would be nice to have him in,” said Chris Lewis, who owns Buckeye Sports Lodge with his wife, Rebecca. “We think this will be a venue fitting for Griffin’s audience and we’re happy to provide the venue.”

House is a graduate of North High School and lives in Nashville with his wife and two daughters. He is constantly touring, and makes an annual summer visit here to play at the Summer Arts Festival, and occasionally at other Springfield venues.

This will be House’s first time at the Buckeye Sports Lodge, which has an upper level suited for performances. Lewis said he hopes it won’t be the only time.

“I’d like to do an annual show with him,” he said. “The timing is good.”

Opening the show at 6 p.m. will be Ty Cooper of Pitchin, who will play Americana/alt-country selections.
