WPAFB awards roofing contract to Florida company

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — The Air Force has awarded a 3 and 1/2-year contract, worth up to $10 million, to a Florida company to install, replace or repair roofs at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

R.L. Campbell Management Services Inc., of Jacksonville, Fla., was selected from among six bidders for the contract, the Defense Department said. The contract awarded by the Aeronautical Systems Center runs from March 1, 2011, through Aug. 28, 2014.

The base civil engineering office will identify construction tasks and the base contracting office is to negotiate and issue orders for those projects on an as-needed basis under the contract, the government said.

According to R.L. Campbell’s Web site, the company’s experience includes serving the Coast Guard and reroofing the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.
