All three stores will be located on the east side of the Greene’s 72-acre campus, near the Von Maur department store.
Brock Schmaltz, a spokesman for Steiner, said the stores will not replace or displace any existing stores.
The Gap store will measure 9,500 square feet and Old Navy 15,700, said Steve Willshaw, the Greene’s general manager. Express will occupy 7,500 square feet, Willshaw said.
Gap and Express operate stores at other Steiner properties, Willshaw said.
“These brands represent a continuation of our strategy to make The Greene the go-to destination for fashion in the Dayton area,” Willshaw said.
Within the last year Greene has added 13 apparel, dining and home accessories stores, according to a news release.
Gap, a San Francisco-based retailer, operates the Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Piperlime and Athleta stores. It has multiple stores in the Dayton area.
In the quarter ended April 30, Gap opened two Gap stores in North America and closed nine.
During the same period, the company also opened six Old Navy stores and closed 12.
Express also has stores at the Dayton Mall in Miami Twp. and The Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek, according to the company’s website.
During the quarter that ended May 1, the retailer opened four stores and closed just as many, company officials said.
Plans call for Express to open up to 27 new stores in the U.S. and Canada and close nine in the U.S. Express expects it will end the year with 609 stores.
