Super Bowl commercials came from top companies this year

The Super Bowl’s huge audience makes it one of the biggest marketing opportunities for advertisers every year.

A 30-second television commercial cost on average more than $5.6 million this year. That’s a slight increase from the $5 million average in 2019.

Here’s some of the top commercials from this year’s game:

AMAZON’S ALEXA

Amazon made a commercial featuring celebrity power couple Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi that asked the question, “What did we do before Alexa?”

JEEP

Super Bowl Sunday was on Groundhog Day, so someone had to do it. Fiat Chrysler recreated the 1993 movie “Groundhog Day,” including the town square and other locales.

GOOGLE

Google’s 90-second ad stood out by not using humor or celebrities. It features a man reminiscing about his wife, using the Google Assistant feature to pull up old photos of her and past vacations.

CHEETOS

Cheetos used nostalgia effectively, appropriating the 30 year old MC Hammer classic “U Can’t Touch This.”

DORITOS

The brand added a silly dance off to “Old Town Road,” the smash hit of the summer by Lil Nas X.
