Sinclair offers defense acquisition, contracting courses

DAYTON — Sinclair Community College is enrolling students for training in contracting, acquisition logistics and program management through the college’s new Defense Acquisition Academy.

Enrollees must have a four-year degree from an accredited institution, be a U.S. citizen and be able to pass a background or security investigation, officials of Sinclair’s workforce development and corporate services division said. The deadline for applying for the training programs is June 4.

Sinclair officials said the training is aligned with hiring criteria for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the Air Force’s hub of acquisition, logistics and management of aircraft and weapons programs.

Most of the courses are delivered online. Each sequence can be done in 12 weeks or less, Sinclair officials said.
