New skateboard and clothing shop now open in downtown Dayton

DAYTON — Hangar18, a men’s clothing store and skateboard shop that focuses on street wear and the skateboarding culture, has opened at 114 N. St. Clair St. in downtown Dayton, store manager Monique Fortney said Wednesday.

Hangar18 carries clothing by brands such as Diamond Supply, Crooks and Castles, HUF, Akomplice, Play Cloths, 10Deep, Rocksmith and Mishka, and carries skateboards by Wutang and HUF, according to a news release from the Downtown Dayton Partnership. The store also sells watches, hats and accessories, and will soon add shoes to its offerings.

Hangar18 previously operated at The Greene from August 2011 to October 2011, Fortney said, mentioning she liked the St. Clair Street space as well as the atmosphere and foot traffic in downtown Dayton.

The store opened March 12 and has three employees, Fortney said. Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, closed Sundays.

A grand opening is in the works, but no date has been set yet.
